Resident Placement

Becoming a Resident of United Friends Group Homes

Thank you for your interest in United Friends Group Homes

First and foremost, United Friends is not a nursing home. All three of our houses are classified as Group Training Homes. A Group Training Home is a community-based, residential facility serving 5-12 adults. Group Training Homes provide 24-hour support services. This includes one-on–one support and services based on the individual’s needs as well as the sharing of some supports, such as grocery shopping and meal preparation, within a household.

All our homes are under regulation and oversight by the State of Washington’s Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and Residential Care Services (RCS). The residents we provide services for have been diagnosed with a developmental/intellectual disability; residency at one of our homes is contingent upon meeting Washington State guidelines and the ability to receive funding from DDA.

So, the first step in residing on of our homes is to have a DDA Case Resource Manager. To find a local office for you, check out this link: https://www.dshs.wa.gov/dda/find-dda-office

From there, simply ask your DDA Case Resource Manager to contact UFGH to see if rooms are available and have them send an initial referral summary if rooms are vacant.
